It was a great honour to be invited as the keynote speaker at the Canon Cambodia Photography Club (CCPC) gathering in Phnom Penh this March. There was a full house for my lecture Photography as a Tool of Influence, during which we explored some of the ways in which the photographic image can have an impact on society. We examined how the image plays a key role in advertising campaigns, public service announcements, journalism, political activism etc., and how it can convey a strong message that generates dialogue or tangible change. The lecture was followed by food, drinks and mingling with local photography buffs.
